MISSION STATEMENT
We will build and maintain homes, where individuals with developmental disabilities can enjoy daily living in a neighborhood among their non-disabled peers. We support inclusion to provide opportunities that would otherwise not be available. Inclusion is involvement and empowerment, where the inherent worth and dignity of all people are recognized. An inclusive community promotes and sustains a sense of belonging.
Supporting Independence in Michigan bought a lot in the beautiful city of Allen Park, Michigan. Upon completion of our home, young adults with special needs, who grew up in Allen Park, will be able to have a home which is located in their own community and will become neighbors to their non-disabled peers.
We expect this home to become an Allen Park treasure, especially since most of our Organization's Board Members will consist of Allen Park residents, business owners and other charitable organization members. As long as this house is standing, Supporting Independence in Michigan will be serving those in Allen Park for generations to come.
We need $400,000 to complete this project. We need your help.
Help us build homes for those with special needs, so they can live independently among their peers.
